Upper Body Lift

Smoothing the Back, Bra Line, and Sides
- 2Weeks to desk work
- 6Weeks to upper-body exercise
- 12–18Months for scars to fade

An upper body lift addresses excess, sagging skin across the upper torso — the back, bra line, and sides — that commonly remains after significant weight loss or develops with aging and skin laxity.
What Is an Upper Body Lift?
The procedure removes excess skin and tightens the underlying tissue across the upper back and sides, eliminating the rolls and folds that cause skin irritation and make clothing fit poorly. It is frequently performed as part of a broader post-weight-loss contouring plan, alongside a breast lift, arm lift, or belt lipectomy, depending on the patient’s anatomy and priorities.
Benefits
- Removes excess skin across the back and bra-line area
- Smooths rolls and folds that irritate skin and affect clothing fit
- Improves the overall silhouette from the back and sides
- Complements breast, arm, and lower-body contouring for a comprehensive result
Who Is a Candidate?
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have loose, sagging skin across the upper back or bra-line area
- Have experienced significant weight loss
- Are at a stable weight and in good general health
- Are planning or have completed other body contouring procedures as part of a broader plan
Recovery & Expectations
Most patients return to desk work within 2 weeks, with strenuous activity and upper-body exercise restricted for 6 weeks.
Swelling, tightness across the back, and altered sensation are normal early and improve over the following weeks, with final contour settling over several months.
Scar Placement & Healing
Incisions are placed to sit within the bra line where possible, concealed by most bras and swimwear. Scars soften and fade over 12–18 months with proper care.
