Smoother Contours for the Inner and Outer Thigh
- 1–2Weeks to desk work
- 4–6Weeks to exercise
- 12–18Months for scars to fade

Thighplasty removes excess skin and tightens tissue in the inner and/or outer thighs, addressing laxity that commonly results from major weight loss, aging, or pregnancy.
What Is Thighplasty?
Depending on the pattern and severity of excess skin, technique ranges from a limited incision confined to the groin crease to a longer incision extending down the inner thigh. The goal is a smoother, better-proportioned thigh that moves comfortably and fits clothing without the irritation loose skin often causes.
Techniques at YCL Plastic Surgery
- Medial (inner) thigh lift
- Addresses the inner thigh through an incision in the groin crease, sometimes extending partway down the thigh for more significant excess.
- Lateral (outer) thigh lift
- Addresses the outer thigh and hip, often performed as an extension of a lower body lift or belt lipectomy.
- Liposuction-assisted thighplasty
- Combines skin removal with liposuction to refine contour where both fat and skin laxity are present.
Benefits
- Removes excess, sagging skin from the inner and/or outer thigh
- Reduces chafing and skin irritation between the thighs
- Improves thigh proportion and overall leg contour
- Frequently combined with other post-weight-loss procedures
Who Is a Candidate?
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have loose or excess skin on the inner or outer thighs
- Have experienced significant weight loss
- Are at a stable weight and in good general health
- Accept the scar location appropriate to the amount of correction needed
Recovery & Expectations
Most patients return to desk work within 1–2 weeks, with strenuous activity and exercise restricted for 4–6 weeks.
Swelling, tightness, and altered sensation in the thighs are normal early and improve steadily, with final contour refining over several months.
Scar Placement & Healing
Medial thigh lift scars sit in the groin crease, extending down the inner thigh where more correction is needed — visible in some clothing but positioned to be as discreet as possible. Scars soften and fade over 12–18 months with silicone therapy and sun protection.

Belt Lipectomy (Circumferential Body Lift)
A belt lipectomy removes excess skin and fat around the entire circumference of the lower torso — abdomen, flanks, and lower back — in a single procedure, often combined with muscle tightening for a smoother, more contoured midsection.
ExploreUpper Body Lift
An upper body lift addresses excess, sagging skin across the upper torso — commonly the back, bra line, and sides — that often remains after significant weight loss or as a result of aging and skin laxity.
ExploreMale BBL & Buttock Augmentation
A BBL uses fat transfer to enhance the shape, volume, and projection of the buttocks.
